Hi there! My name is John Pike, and I am the founder of Oakland Walkies, a one-man dog-walking business centered in the East Bay, CA. I help socialize rescues, bond with many furry friends, and lead daily walks - rain or shine.

This is how Oakland Walkies came to be…

It was 2013 when I noticed one of my own dogs Luli, needed special attention. (She is a rescue, and suffered from anxiety.) We started to take extra long walks away from the city's hustle and bustle. It really helped her relax and enjoy all that pent-up puppy energy.

So began our exploration of the wonderful East Bay Regional parks. My main focus was finding the best locations for off-leash hikes so Luli could run free while still being safe. Soon enough, I was taking along some other high-energy dogs from the neighborhood. It wasn't long before I decided this is what I wanted to do everyday. Soon thereafter Oakland Walkies was born.

I  provide the absolute best care to your pet and rest assured I treat them all as if they were my own. We're a big happy furry family pack. And in case you were wondering, yes, I love cats too.
